Job Purpose:

Responsibility for driving, product development and realization projects, overseeing planning, strategy and execution of project activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • *   Liaises with key stakeholders to obtain product development innovation or renovation ideas and ensures those ideas are funneled through the pipeline in order of priority and develops project plans as appropriate.
  • *   Applies project management tools and skills to drive projects related to product innovation and renovation and ensures the on-time launch and execution of projects from concept to close.
  • *   Builds and manages the project schedule, defining the critical path, tracking activities to ensure functional team members are meeting agreed deadlines, generating, and communicating status reports, and escalating critical issues.
  • *   Leads, coordinates, and facilitates project meetings including kick-off meetings, project team meetings, risk assessments, post launch reviews and additional meetings as required.
  • *   Provides transparency and communicates on project status and risks to cross functional team members, Executives and Directors as appropriate and effectively controls scope changes through proactive and open communication with stakeholders.
  • *   Reports challenges and risks that may jeopardize timelines, provide risk assessment/status to team members, Executives and Directors and maps out action plan for resolution and mobilizes appropriate teams needed to execute results.
  • *   Oversees the project(s) status through tracking milestones and flags any critical delay for mitigation purposes.
  • *   Leads the alignment of the strategy and approach for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects with key stakeholders.
  • *   Supports the design, development, refinement, and implementation of new products by assisting the Marketing team with research to identify consumer needs, research consumer acceptance of product category.
  • *   Ensures that there are adequate resources and competence levels for the project(s), including managing the allocated budgets.
  • *   Creates synergies through effective networking with all relevant business units and partners.
  • *   Liaises with all team members, Executives and Directors to prepare the project (s) for approval in accordance with Capital Expenditure guidelines.
  • *   Ensures that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timelines.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • *   Masters’ Degree in Business Management any related discipline and Certification in Project Manager with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Sales, Marketing or related field.
  • *   A minimum of five (5) years project management experience.
  • *   Food Science/Food Technology certification or experience will be an asset.
  • *   Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing industry will be an asset.
  • *   Experience with consumer research and product development in a sales and marketing environment.
  • *   A sound understanding of product development and category management.
