Job Purpose:

Analyzing and reviewing inventory cost and control reports to arrive at recommendations and conclusions to support decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • *   Reviews reports prepared by the inventory team for accuracy and completeness.
  • *   Analyses the reports and recommends plans to be considered by the manufacturing and commercial teams.
  • *   Performs financial period close off activities including preparation of the required reports.
  • *   Prepares all requirements for internal and external auditors.
  • *   Analyses the general ledger accounts related to cost of sales to validate the information inputted in the ERP Software.
  • *   Prepares forecasts to support the sales and operations planning process to maximize the benefit of the business.
  • *   Analyses all allocated costs for manufactured and finished goods to identify gaps and or anomalies and provides recommendations to address these gaps to ensure the allocation rules are appropriate.
  • *   Performs investment return analysis and communicates results to the business partners.
  • *   Develops, directs and manages cycle count process per scheduled cycle count and systems adjustment and reconciliation when appropriate.
  • *   Reviews entries made to the inventory subledgers and ensures appropriate accounting entries are made to the correct general ledger accounts.
  • *   Defines and manages Inventory metrics including cycle count accuracy (physical & financial), adjustment metrics and reasons and inventory improvement projects, etc.
  • *   Supports process redesign efforts to remove waste, reduce throughput time and increase flexibility and responsiveness of financial transactions across the supply chain.
  • *   Collaborates with finance, manufacturing, and operations teams to develop and implement creative ways to solve logistics and support problems.
  • *   Provides analytical support to the finance, manufacturing and operations teams including estimating the cost and benefits of various decisions through design, conversion, and execution efforts.
  • *   Creates management reporting and evaluation tools to ensure that supply chain and inventory initiatives meet its objectives and delivers the required performance improvements.
  • *   Ensures accurate accounting and valuation for all inventory, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • *   Monitors and ensures effectiveness of Supply Chain Controls including continuous review of processes and policy to maintain a sound control environment around stocks.
  • *   Ensures adherence to the stock policies and corrects provisions for Slow moving and obsolete stocks.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • *   ACCA qualified with a minimum of eight (8) years post professional experience, five (5) years of which must be in a leadership capacity.
  • *   Experience in a Food Manufacturing and or Distribution industry will be an asset.
  • *   Experience of developing, maintaining, and running financial accounting systems and computerized accounting systems.
  • *   Proven experience in IFRS reporting, month and quarter end and financial year closing.
  • *   Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with expert ability to navigate Excel.
